Helen Louise Vallely, 96, of Florissant, MO and formerly of Terre Haute passed away late Thursday, March 11, 2021. She was born July 9, 1924 in Terre Haute to William Littlefield and Lorena Stitzel Littlefield.
Survivors include her three sons and their wives, Steve and Angela Vallely of Fort Wayne, IN, John and Susan Vallely of Florissant, MO and Joe and Sue Vallely of Yorkville, IL; six grandchildren, Jerry Vallely (Georgette), Mike Vallely, Genevieve Vallely, Lara South (Jeremy), Amy Compton (Teddy) and Gabe Vallely; and six great-grandchildren, Cecilia, Felicity, Jack, Grace, Evan and Toby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Vallely; and a sister, Mary E. Taylor.
Helen was a graduate of Wiley High School, was a secretary for Forrest Sherer Insurance company and later worked several years for Indiana Insurance Agency before retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Ann Parish, a 50 year member of Beta Sigma Phi, and a volunteer for the American Red Cross where she was awarded Volunteer of the Year.
Visitation will be conducted from 12:00 Noon-12:30 PM, Thursday, March 18, 2021 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. Funeral services will follow with Father Martin Day, OFM Conv. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, D.C., 20090-6011.
