Wilma "Jean" Ellis, 82 of Terre Haute passed away Monday, October 10, 2016
in her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 4, 1934 in Savannah, Missouri
to Joseph D. Reece and Helen F. Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents: her daughter Connie Bennett and son Larry Ellis.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Wilber H. Ellis of Terre Haute; her
daughter, Cheryl Hamilton; son-in-law Joesph P. Bennett; five grandchildren, Matt Slaughter and his
fiancé Whitney, Jamie Hill and her husband Matt, Joseph Bennett and his
wife Melissa, Brad Ellis and his wife Brandy and Brandon Ellis and his
fiancé Sarah; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Jean was a full time homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. An involved and active member of Unity Presbyterian Church. She was a past president of the Newcomers Club. Jean was an avid bowler on several leagues. She devoted many years to creating costumes for area theaters. She was also a breast cancer survivor that spent a lot of time helping other women with Y-Me. Jean was a very kind and gentle soul and that was
very giving to others and a friend to all that knew her.
A special thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice and her nurses who have been invaluable to her and her family.

A celebration of life will be conducted at Unity Presbyterian Church, Monday October 17th at 5pm with Pastor Andrew Black officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street. Funeral information can be found at, www.callahanandhughes.com.
