William J. Treash

William J. Treash, 75, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday evening, July 5, 2023.  He was retired having worked as a press operator at Wabash Fibre Box for over 31 years and was an operator at the Terre Haute Wastewater Treatment Plant for over 11 years.  Bill was born January 22, 1948 in Brazil, IN to Herbert Treash and Colletta Brown Treash.

Survivors include his wife of  55 years, Teresa Hoffman Treash;  two sons, William J. Treash II of Terre Haute and Brent Treash (Katy) of Abingdon, VA;  two grandchildren, Sara Green (Ross) and Anthony Treash (fiancé, Maddi Hellmich);  and two brothers-in-law, John Hoffman (Kathy) and Richard Hoffman.

Bill was a graduate of Brazil High School.  He was retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #157 and was President of the Wabash Valley Chapter of the Southern Indiana Labor Federation.  He was active in the Terre Haute community volunteering to assist others, especially in helping children.  Bill served on the board of directors of the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club and United Way of the Wabash Valley.  He was an avid golfer and served as assistant boys and girls golf coach for Terre Haute North High Vigo School.

The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to Hospice of the Wabash Valley for the care they provided to Bill.

Funeral services will take place at Noon, Monday, July 10, 2023 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Stephen Moore officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Sunday from 3:00-6:00 PM in the funeral home.
