William Charles Scott, 86, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in his residence. He was born February 27, 1930 in Houston, TX to Walter W. Scott and Mary Vandegaer Scott. William was a retired professor from the Indiana State University School of Business.
Survivors include his wife Adelaide Elizebeth Conlon Scott; daughters, Susan Graham and her husband John of Terre Haute, Catherine Scott of Bloomington, IN, and Jane Schackmuth and her husband Jon of Zionsville, IN; sister, Elizabeth Rabalais of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Nicholas Ferrell and his wife Maya, Katherine Collins and her husband Steven, Sarah Romero and her husband Dustin, Rachel Graham, Abigail Graham, Matthew Graham, Jacob Graham, William Schackmuth, Charles Schackmuth, and Benjamin Scott; great-grandchildren, Jackson Collins, Leo Collins, Alexander Romero, Alecia Romero; step great-grandchild, Kenzie Helwig; and future great grandchild, Thomas Ferrell. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Reverend Walter W. Scott CSB.
William was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Dan Bedel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to services from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. in the church with a rosary service at 10:45 A.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Patrick Soup Kitchen.
