Wayne Richard Jackson

Wayne Richard Jackson, 99, of Cory passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born June 4, 1925 in Cory to Clarence D. Jackson and Jewel Modesitt Jackson.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Conn Jackson; daughters, Kristina Wolfe (Michael) and Diane Olvey; stepsons, Darrell Sparks (Ali) and David Sparks; grandchildren, Brian Kough (Marlena), Travis Wolfe (Laurette), and Tyler Wolfe (Katelyn); great grandchildren, Brandon Kough, Jalen Kough, Jack Wolfe, Anna Clark Wolfe, Abigail Wolfe, and Madeline Wolfe; step-grandchildren, Amanda Sparks and Devin Sparks; sisters-in-law, Marsha Jackson, Barbara Brough Hart, and Joyce McCammack; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Geraldine “Jerry” Jackson; two brothers, Ernie Jackson and Bill Jackson; and two sisters, Esther Reagin and Joanna Minor.

Wayne was a 75 year member of the Riley Masonic Lodge; Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute; Cory Zion Community Church; Riley American Legion; and the Clay City Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Wayne was a lifelong resident of the Cory community. He retired from Commercial Solvents / IMC and always loved farming.

Masonic Memorial Services and Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Noon on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. Visitation will be prior to services from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
