Vonda Pearl Russell, 89, of Terre Haute passed away early Wednesday evening, May 22, 2019 in Westridge Health Care Center. She had worked as a Tape Splicer for Columbia Records. Vonda was born October 9, 1929 in Odon, IN to Aldus Chestnut and Stella Pearl Resler Chestnut.
Survivors include her two sons, William E. French and Dale French (Vicki) of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Michelle Lawson (Greg), Brian Bogard (Angela) and Michelle Bogard; and one great-grandson, Matthew Lawson (Miranda). Also surviving are two sisters, Vivian A. Chestnut and Loretta Byrer; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Edward French and Virgil L. Russell; a brother, Lowell Chestnut; sister, Helen Chestnut; and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Sue French
Vonda attended The King's Harvest Foursquare Gospel Church and was a member of the VFW Post #972 Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Dennis Leek officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Tuesday from 9:00-11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.
