Victor L. Saberton, 88, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born November 25, 1926 in Terre Haute to Earl E. Saberton and Sarah Corenflos Saberton. Survivors include his son, Chris Riggs-Saberton (Karen) of San Diego, CA; daughter, Carol Sue Saberton of West Terre Haute; step-daughter, Yvonne K. Avary (John) of Terre Haute; daughter-in-law, Margaret DeLong of Terre Haute; sister-in-law, Virginia Saberton of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Melissa Etling (Jay), Ryan DeLong (Sarah), Jerod DeLong (Sarah), and Zachary Avary; five great grandchildren; and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Saberton; his parents; step-son, Mark DeLong; two sisters; and one brother. Victor had worked at Quaker Maid, T.H. Regional Hospital, and Pfister & Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of West Terre Haute, a Navy Veteran, and was a Colts and Pacers fan. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Michael Baker. Cremation will follow with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Noon on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
