Velma Rae Griffith

Velma Rae Griffith, 91, of Terre Haute passed away early Tuesday morning, February 28, 2023.  She was born October 13, 1931 in Bloomington, IN to Ira Sparks and Hazel Corlette Sparks.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Mae Griffith of Terre Haute;  two granddaughters, Natalie Brandom of Indianapolis and Monica Brandom of Terre Haute;  a great-granddaughter, Emma Rae Brandom of Terre Haute;  a niece, a few nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents;  husband, Jack E. Griffith;  and a sister, Juanita Wright.

Velma owned and operated Idaho Beauty Shop for 65 years.  She attended Memorial United Methodist Church.  Velma loved her work, family and friends, and enjoyed watching sports, especially IU and Pacers Basketball.

There will be no services.  Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 ^th Street.  Private burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
