Vaunda R. Johnson, 96, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday afternoon, April 4, 2020. She retired as a Laboratory Technician with Quaker Maid, Inc. Vaunda was born September 20, 1923 in Shepardsville, IN to Frederick Heck and Verna Deeter Heck. Her husband, Robert Johnson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Beth Johnson of Terre Haute; a grandson, Ryan Johnson of Terre Haute; two great-grandchildren, Chrissy Jones and Brittney Johnson; three great-great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Jones, Hadley Jones and Bentley Jones; two brothers, Lloyd Heck (Mary Ann) and Oscar J. Heck; two sisters-in-law, Margie Heck and Shirley Lunsford; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Rick J. Johnson; three brothers, Frederick Dale Heck, Raymond Allen Heck and Leo Heck; and two sisters, Virginia Deardorff and Maxine Stanton.
Vaunda was a member of 8th Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and playing card games.
