Tony G. Clark, 60, of Terre Haute passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, surrounded by his family. Tony was a husband, son, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, mentor, and coach. He was the former Vice President and General Manager of WPFR radio, where he recruited and developed talent that served in major markets and national syndication. He was an accomplished sales manager. He worked in a variety of sales and management positions over the years; but his favorite role was that of coach. He was the last baseball coach at Schulte High School, and went on to coach basketball at State Laboratory School, the Boys and Girls Club, Wabash Valley Family Sports Center, and various AAU teams. He coached at Terre Haute North High School for the girls basketball program for eight years, including three years as head coach. He coached his daughter, son, grandson, and countless other children at St. Patrick School, with the 2015-2016 season marking his 20th year.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Mary Ann (Gauer) Clark, daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Joe Wallace, son Nicholas Clark and his girlfriend Kelley Spillson, grandchildren Trey and Mayah Wallace, his parents George Robert (Bob) and Vonda (Bonnie) Clark, brother Dan Clark, mother-in-law Margie Gauer, sisters-and-brothers-in-law Michele and Michael Laine and Leisa and William Gustin, and nieces and nephews Eric and Katie Laine, Tim and Zachary Gustin, and Heather Dooley. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Eunice McBride, father-in-law Harold Gauer, and nephew Christopher Gustin.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Callahan and Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Church on Thursday, March 24th, at 10 a.m. with Father Rick Ginther officiating.
