Thomas E. Geary, "Tom", died on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Regional Hospital. He was born January 2, 1937 in Indianapolis to Timothy and Frances (Kaufman) Geary. Tom was retired from Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company and had worked in Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin, Charleston, S. Carolina, Springfield, Virginia, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Ft. Myers, Florida. He is survived by a sister, Kathryn List of Reno, Nevada and brother, John Gibbons and wife, Deanna of Terre Haute, Indiana. Other survivors include cousin, Jack Percy, of Athens, Georgia and nine beloved nieces and nephews: Suzanne Pritchard and husband, Brad of Redwood City, California; Hank List of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Michelle Panelli and husband Erick of Reno, Nevada; Patrick Gibbons and wife Trista of Terre Haute, IN; Andrew Gibbons and wife Jessica of Shawnee, Kansas and Sara (Gibbons) Oswald and husband Michael of Waverly, Iowa. Tom also has eight adored great nieces and nephews: Molly Gibbons, Ellia and Lucy Gibbons, Clayton, Jackson and Kian Oswald, Hunter Panelli and Heather Pritchard. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and stepfather, Thomas Gibbons. Tom was a 1954 graduate of Garfield High School and earned his BS in Marketing from Indiana University in 1958 where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He served in the U. S. Army following his graduation. He enjoyed spending time with his family, delighted in playing with his nieces and nephews, and was an avid stamp and coin collector. He was a member of St. Patrick Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 20, 2014 in St. Patrick Church, 1807 Poplar with Father Rick Ginther officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute, IN. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to St. Patrick School, c/o S.G.O. Scholarship Fund, 1807 Poplar Street, Terre Haute, IN 47803.
