Thomas A. Bilyeu (87) was born 0ct 1, 1930 to Jesse C. and Edna (Seamann) Bilyeu and departed his earthly home September 25, 2018.
Tom grew up within the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church Family, where he was baptized, confirmed and married to Dorothy J (Dotty) nee: Braunschweiger, who preceded him in death in 2016. Together Tom and Dotty raised four children: Bradley (Jeanne), Jan Swingley (David), Kris (Leslie), and Gail Happel (David), whom all survive him. Along with his children, he enjoyed his 10 grandchildren: Matthew Bilyeu, Mark Bilyeu, Molly Bilyeu Crawn, Grant Hile, Jesse Hile, Alysa Hile Kocek, Katie Bilyeu Brunette, Emma Bilyeu, Erin Happel, and Luke Happel, and 7 great grandchildren all of whom also survive him. Along with his sister Barbara, he has several nieces and nephews who also survive him. It was this extended family in particular, that gave Tom (and Dot) some wonderful friendships and shared good times. His Church Family was also a very integral part of his life and that revealed itself through general day to day activities and his concern for others.
Tom often reminisced during his time at Westminster Village of his school years in Terre Haute at Davis Park Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Jr. High and Terre Haute Wiley High School, where he graduated with the class of 1949. He also spoke often of his times and friends at the old local YMCA. Even more recently, he still enjoyed seeing some of his old classmates on occasion and sharing pleasantries with them.
After his graduation, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps, through which he served in the Korean Conflict.
Tom and Dorothy were married in 1953 and not long after he went to work to support his family. After holding several sales positions, Tom settled in with Moore Business Forms in 1967. He developed a passion for the print industry which led to the start of Tabco Business Forms , Inc. Tom and Dorothy began the operation of Tabco in 1978 which steadily grew from their in-home office to the multi-state 40 plus employee company that it is today. Both remained active in the company processes until their full time retirement in the "fall" of 2012.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Westminster Village for the friendship, compassion and care that our parents received there for almost 6 years, as well as Dr. Gary Fitzgerald and his staff.
As per Tom's wishes, donations and memorials may be made to: Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church M.P. Braunschweiger Library Fund, or the charity of your choice.
