Stephen A. Black

Stephen A. Black, a lifelong musician and member of the Wabash Valley Musicians Hall of Fame, has departed from this world, leaving behind heartfelt memories and cherished melodies.

Stephen was born on January 5, 1950, in Terre Haute, IN, and departed from this world on March 2, 2024. His profound love for music was nurtured through a lifetime of dedication.  He was a member of several local bands, including the Don Morris Band.  Stephen also loved tending to his vegetable garden and cooking for loved ones.

Stephen is now reunited with his beloved parents, Genevieve (Horner) Black and H. Kenneth Black. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his surviving brother Lee (Barb), as well as his cherished nephews, Jason (Jess) and Aaron (Jen), and niece, Andrea (Chris) McCoy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, March 9, 2024 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2322 N 13th 1/2 St., Terre Haute, IN 47804.  Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 10:00 AM-12:00 Noon in the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.  If friends should so desire, memorial contributions may be made to ISU Foundation, Community School of the Arts, 30 N.
