Shirley A. Ensor, 80, of Fairfield, Ohio and formerly of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her home. She had worked for much of her career as a cook at Terre Haute South Vigo High School and Badin High School in Hamilton, OH. Shirley was born October 25, 1937 in Decker, IN to Albert Perry and Virgie Young Perry. Her husband, Larry Paul Ensor, preceded her in death in 1987.
Survivors include her brothers, Frank Perry (Cynthia) and John Wesley Perry (Esther) all of Terre Haute; a sister-in-law, Naomi Perry; her very good friend, Bob Loos; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Perry and Dwight Perry; and two sisters, Betty Vaughn Commons and Doris Gerst.
Shirley was a graduate of Decker High School and was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Cincinnati, OH and Gospel Assembly Church in Terre Haute. She loved music including singing and playing the piano and trumpet and was heavily involved with the music department at church. Shirley was a great supporter of young people encouraging them spiritually, musically and loved to be with and around them.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 6, 2018 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Rev. R.A. Jones and Pastor Roger Stevenson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Saturday from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
