Thanks be to our Heavenly Father for blessing us with the birth of our beautiful daughter, Sara. Thank you, Father, for giving her joy which she shared with us each and every day. And, thank you, Father, for the comfort and certainty of knowing she lives in eternity with you in Heaven.
Sara Rae Clements, 41, of Terre Haute passed away at Union Hospital on November 20, 2019. Born January 2, 1978, she was the daughter of Susan and Tim Clements. Sara attended Rio Grande Elementary, Otter Creek Middle School, and was a graduate of North Vigo High School. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Sara participated in 4-H, Happiness Bag Bowling, Wabash Valley Swim Club, and was a member of the Terre Haute North swim team. A highlight of her high school years was earning a varsity letter in swimming. She also had perfect school attendance for several years.
Sara is survived by her parents, her sister Ann (Nathan) Stuhlmacher, her niece and nephews, Claire, Carter, Caleb, and Cole Stuhlmacher; her aunt, Sharon Pitts; her best friend and cousin, Becky Wiesneth; and many cousins whose company she cherished. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Frances Wood, Marguerite and Arthur Reese, and Clarence Clements; her uncle, Tom Pitts; and her cousins, Carol Edwards and Robert Wood.
Over the years, spending time with her family has been her favorite pastime. She was always ready for a get together or party with her cousins or a visit with her niece and nephews. Visits with her sister and her family took her to Virginia, California, Hawaii, Florida, England, France, and Germany. Everyone who knew Sara knows that she had a knack for shopping, loved purses and bracelets, and loved to eat out. Although Sara and her mother and father were constant companions, when eating out she desired to have as much company as possible. She loved to listen to the conversation. She liked to attend church services and especially loved the music. Sara also liked to swim at the Y, ride the bike at Anytime Fitness, and walk the Heritage Trail with her father. Not too long ago, she had walked every day for over a year. Sara and her mother were constant companions.
On Friday, December 27, visitation will be from 4 to 6 at Callahan and Hughes Funeral Home with a memorial service at 6. On Saturday, December 28, her funeral will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 10 with Pastor Jacob Sutton officiating, and an open house will be held at the home of her parents from 1 to 3. Family and friends are invited to come and share their memories of Sara. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children (where Sara had back surgery), 4400 Clayton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110; to her church, Immanuel Lutheran, 645 Poplar St., Terre Haute, 47807; or to a charity of your choice
