Sandra Jo Rafter

Sandra Jo Rafter, 80, of Terre Haute passed away Monday afternoon, October 25, 2021. She was born February 3, 1941 in Terre Haute to Joe Kiburis and Betty Eldridge Kiburis. Her husband, Thomas M. Rafter, preceded her in death in 2007.

Survivors include her four children, Kathy Brown of Terre Haute, Michael Rafter (Melissa) of West Terre Haute, Brad Rafter of Terre Haute and Kevin Rafter (Nicole Hill) of Fort Wayne, IN; four grandchildren, Travis Brown, Kaycee Walker (Zach), Kaylynn Piche (Ryan) and Kaleb Rafter; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Vicki Porter.

Sandy was a 1959 graduate of Concannon High School. Sandy worked at Terre Haute North High School cafeteria for 21 years. Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She also liked going to the beach, playing Bunco with friends and watching sports. She loved all animals, especially her dog, Maggie.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 30, 2021 in St. Joseph University Parish, 113 South 5th Street, with Friar Savio Manavalan, OFM Conv. officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 29th from 4:00-8:00 PM in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
