Sam B. Cochran

Sam B. Cochran, 90, passed away on Saturday February 18, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on December 31, 1926 in Center Point, IN to Cullen Cochran and Fern McCann Cochran.

Sam is survived by his wife of 68 years, Coral Cochran, and two children; Lynne Nadolny (Steve) from Bowling Green, IN and Brad Cochran (Tammy) of Tampa, FL 5 grandchildren; Amy Antes of Bloomington, IN, Kevin Hicks of Fishers, IN, Craig Cochran of Camden, SC, Christina Picheo of Pensacola, DL and Brian Cochran of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren; Sierra Antes, Ella Antes, Eli Antes, Addison Hicks, Kaden Hicks, Dominic Picheo, Jacob Picheo, and Claire Cochran. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Cochran, and is survived by his sister Dorothy Marshall of Columbus, OH and his brother Richard Cochran of Bowling Green, IN.

Sam graduated from Ashboro High School and received his Bachelors and Masters from Indiana State University. As an Army Veteran of World War II, he served in the Philippines and Japan. He was a member of Cory Zion Church and Masonic Lodge No. 597 in Center Point, IN. At one time, he was a Partner in two General Stores in Bowling Green, IN and Center Point, IN. He taught at Wiley High School and South Putnam High School. He loved working on his farm in Bowling Green, IN, admiring nature, and playing cards with friends and family.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street, with Dr. Jerry Caskey and Reverend Rick Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the funeral home and one hour before services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to, Cory Zion Church, 3476 W County Rd 300 S, Cory, IN 47846 or Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivors, Inc., 204 Bluebird Lane, Terre Haute, IN 47803. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
