Ruby Marie Barnhart Royer, 92, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Union Hospital following a short illness. She was born July 3, 1928 in Saline City to Charles Barnhart and Mary Fitch Barnhart.
Survivors include her husband of 74 years, Jimmie H. Royer; children, Bruce H. Royer (Gisela) of Terre Haute, Phyllis Collins (Rich) of Brazil, Louwana Hudson (Sanford ”Buck”) of Terre Haute, and Scott T. Royer (Aletta) of Coal City; sister, Doris Easter; brother, Earl Barnhart (Donna); 14 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Little Wayne; and brothers, Glen (Curly) Barnhart and Charles (Junior) Barnhart.
Ruby graduated from Ashboro High School class of 1946. She attended Beauty College and had her own shop in Terre Haute. Ruby also held a job at Sugar Grove Elementary School for 28 years where she was a teacher’s aide. Ruby enjoyed spending time with family and was a member of the Free Life Community Church.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 18, 2020 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 th Street, with Dr. Dan Willis officiating. Burial will be in Ashboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00- 8:00 P.M. on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Free Life Community Church, 1620 S. 20 th St., Terre Haute, IN 47803.
