Sister Rosemary of Christ Jesus, (Rosemary Stewart), 69, died June 2, 2013. Sister was born in Detroit , Michigan and then moved New Haven, Indiana . She attended St. Mary's Spring High School as an aspirant to the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Agnes in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. After graduation she was accepted as a postulant and attended Marian College, Fond du Lac where she received her bachelor's degree and completed her master's degree course work at the University of Minnesota. In 1970 She made her perpetual profession of vows as a Sister of St. Agnes. Sister Rosemary taught for many years in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and also in Des Plaines , IL. and was deeply loved by her students. July 4, 1976, Sister Rosemary recognizing a call to the contemplative life, joined the Carmelite Monastery in Terre Haute, IN. She made her solemn profession of vows as a Carmelite Nun in 1980. Sister Rosemary served the Community in various capacities, as head of the altar bread department, as graphic arts designer and calligrapher, and as bookkeeper. She also served on the Council of the monastery for sixteen years. Her parents were Peter and Rosemary (Belobradich) Stewart. Sister's parents, and her brother Peter preceded her in death. Sister Rosemary, is survived by her sister, Sally Stewart Gonya, numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family. Visitation will be held at the Carmelite Monastery chapel: Wednesday 3:00 - 5:30 and 6:30 - 7:30 PM, EDT. Prayer Vigil: Wednesday 7:30 PM, EDT Funeral Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, June 6, 2013 -- 3:00 PM, EDT. Interment will follow the Mass in the Carmelite Monastery Cemetery. Callahan and Hughes are in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carmelite Monastery.
