Rosemary A. Maehler, 80, of Terre Haute passed away early Wednesday morning, October 30, 2019 in the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. She was retired from First Financial Bank at Springhill. Rosemary was born October 23, 1939 in Terre Haute to Frank Bonte and Catherine Peperak Bonte.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Richard C. Maehler; two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Stephanie Maehler of Fishers, IN and Michael and Angie Maehler of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Amaris, Jacob, Aiden and Rachael; two sisters-in-law; Glenda Bonte of Terre Haute and Sue Ellen Williams of California; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald J. Bonte, Sr. and Joseph Bonte; and a sister, Frances Perona.
Rosemary was a graduate of Schulte High School and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with the grandkids and attending their activities. Rosemary was a member of the Red Hat Society, Lunch Bunch and loved to travel and going to auctions.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 4, 2019 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2405 South 7th Street, with Father Ron Ashmore officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 PM in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
