Robert P. Steinbaugh, 88, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 in Union Hospital. He was born August 25, 1925 in Mineral City, Ohio to Paul Steinbaugh and Blanche Lechner Steinbaugh. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Gates Steinbaugh; two sisters, a sister-in-law; and a special niece, Heather Winrod. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister. Robert received his BS from Ohio State University in 1950; his MA in 1952; and his PhD in 1957. He was a professor at Miami University in Oxford, OH from 1953-1955; Ohio State University in Columbus, OH from 1955-1957; and at Indiana State University from 1957 until retirement. He was a member of the Academy of Management, American Management Association, Ohio State Alumni Association, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Delta Sigma Pi. Robert was also a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Rotary Club of Terre Haute, the Country Club of Terre Haute, the Columbia Club of Indianapolis, and the Republican Party. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 12, 2014 in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 215 N. 7th Street with Reverend Mary Slenski officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 in the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, the Salvation Army Food Pantry, or the Wabash Valley Community Foundation.
