Robert G. Rogerson, 87, of Terre Haute passed away Friday afternoon, October 11, 2019. He was a Chief Warrant Officer 3 serving with the United States Army. Bob was born December 5, 1931 in Terre Haute to Russell Rogerson and Goldie Stahl Rogerson.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Barbara Scott Rogerson; three sons, Mark G. Rogerson (Denise) of Terre Haute, R. Scott Rogerson (Diana) of Shelbyville, IN and James R. Rogerson (Bee Gee) of Terre Haute; and four grandchildren, Tyler Rogerson (Chelsea), Ryan Rogerson (Courtney), Dalton Rogerson and Erika Rogerson. Also surviving is his sister, Judith Rhude (Robert) of Columbus, IN; four nieces; and one nephew. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Rogerson; and a sister, Rosemary Slachter.
Bob was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School and was a veteran of the Korean War. He served with the Army National Guard from 1951-1984. He was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years and was active with the Double Ring Class and served as a church Trustee and usher. Bob was also a member of the Military Officers Association of America. He was an "all around fix it man" and loved helping others whenever he could. He loved his family dearly and was a most "proud grandpa" of his grandkids.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in First Baptist Church, 4701 Poplar Street, with Reverend John Campbell and Reverend Bernie Jackson officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 PM also in the church. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
