Robert W. "Bob" Rafter

Robert W. “Bob” Rafter, 82, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday afternoon, February 18, 2024 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital with his family by his side.  He was a truck driver having worked for Eastern Motor Express and B&B Foods.  Bob was born July 27, 1941 in Decatur, IL to John Rafter and Clara Schleicher Rafter.

Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Connie Archer Rafter;  daughter, Michelle Rafter Swick (Bob) of Rockville, IN;  son, David Rafter (LeeAnn) Rafter of Terre Haute; brother, Eugene Rafter of Omaha, NB;  sisters, Joan Whitehouse of Terre Haute, Sr. Rosemary Rafter, S.P. of St. Mary-of-the-Woods, IN and Sue Rafter of Terre Haute;  a sister-in-law, Judy Rafter of Arizona;  4 grandchildren;  5 great-grandchildren;  and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents;  3 brothers, John Rafter, Jerry Rafter and Tom Rafter;  and a nephew, John Rafter.

Bob was a graduate of Schulte High School and a member of St. Joseph University Parish.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a huge NASCAR and Notre Dame football fan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Father Bob St. Martin officiating.  Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 10:00-11:00 AM in the funeral home.  If friends should so desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph University Parish, 113 South 5th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807.  Funeral information and tributes may be found at www.callahanandhughes.com.
