Robert A. Mohrhaus, 87, of Terre Haute passed away early Wednesday morning, November 6, 2019 at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. He was employed by Hook's Oxygen and Medical Equipment in Indianapolis and also in Terre Haute which he managed from 1985 until his retirement in 1996. He also was the owner of Park Lane Properties. Bob was born December 31, 1931 in Cincinnati, OH to Robert Mohrhaus and Flora (Alerding) Mohrhaus.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Linda Haley Mohrhaus; a daughter, Laura Mohrhaus Brentlinger and her husband, Jared, of Greencastle; two grandsons, Kyle Brentlinger and Dylan Brentlinger; and three sisters, Sr. Aline Mohrhaus of St. Louis and Jeanne Coykendall and Peggy Payne both of Indianapolis. Also surviving are two step-sons, Jeffrey Dittrich, his wife, Beth, their daughter, Kristin and their granddaughter, Amara; and Robert Dittrich and his wife, Jayna; a brother-in-law, Dennis Haley and his wife, Sandy; a sister-in-law, Kathy Jarosz and her husband, Tom; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Bein and Bonnie Hindson.
Bob was a 1954 graduate of St. Meinrad College in St. Meinrad, Indiana and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Terre Haute. His affiliations included the Apartment Association of Greater Terre Haute where he served as President in 1993-1994, and served on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Apartment Association. He enjoyed woodworking and cabinet making with a specialty of creating wood clocks.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2019 in St. Patrick Church, 1807 Poplar Street, with Father Dan Bedel officiating. Visitation is prior to services on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon-2:00 PM in the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
