Robert Byron Denny

January 11, 1944 — July 26, 2018

Robert Byron Denny, 74, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 in his residence. He was born January 11, 1944 in Oak Park, IL to Earl Rankin Denny and Mildred Maxine Rogers Denny.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Woods Denny; son, Scott Denny; daughter, Christine Grimsby (Dave); step daughters, Amy Johnson (Robert) and Julie Hayworth (Brian); brother, Earl Denny; and grandchildren, Morgan Grimsby, Dominic Grimsby, Jacob Johnson, Lukas Johnson, Mason Hayworth, and Marlie Hayworth. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn Denny.

Bob was a salesman for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco. He was also a tennis coach at Terre Haute North, after retirement he worked as a deliveryman for Mike's Market. Bob was a graduate of Indiana State University and a member of the tennis team. He attended St. Joseph University Parish. Bob was a Cardinal fan and an avid tennis fan. Bob loved watching his grandchildrens' sporting events and having morning coffee with his friends. His great passion for animals, especially his cats, were a major part of his life.

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at his residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. In lieu of flowers please consider adopting or sponsoring an adoption of a shelter pet.
