Rita Y. Nuss

Rita Y. Nuss, 73, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 in her residence.  She was born June 2, 1949 in Terre Haute to James Deakins and Maxine Snider Deakins.

Survivors include her son, Chris Nuss (Miranda); sister, Janet Hapenny; grandson, Lucas Nuss; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Nuss, Jr.; her parents; a brother; and two sisters.

Rita was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.  She was a nurse working at Union Hospital and Hamilton Center, and was also a nursing instructor at IVY Tech until 2021. Rita enjoyed crafts and painting.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 14, 2023 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 ^th Street, with Pastor Karen Husby officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to services from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
