Richard Muir Simpson

June 17, 1931 — August 11, 2017

Richard Muir Simpson, 86, of Clinton and formerly of Terre Haute passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 in Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born June 17, 1931 in Terre Haute to George Muir Simpson and Mary Alice Simpson. Dick was a retired Assistant Administrator for Union Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Betty M. Sawyer Simpson; son, Gary A. Simpson of Clinton; and brother, Clifford Simpson of Terre Haute. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Lu Simpson; brother, Philip Simpson; and his parents.

Dick was a member of Humbolt Lodge #42 F & AM where he was Past Master, a lifetime member of V.F.W Post #972, and a member of American Legion Post #346. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Funeral Services and Masonic Memorial Services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Noon on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with Brother Mark Grayless and Humbolt Lodge #42 F & AM officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with military graveside services by V.F.W. Post #972. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until services on Tuesday.
