Richard Melvin LaFleur, 74, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 in his residence. He was born October 19, 1946 in Medford, OR to Richard Carson LaFleur and Louise Delores LaFleur Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Vail LaFleur; children, Jocelyn Barnard (Joe), Richard Tyson LaFleur (Amanda), Kristin Corley (Brent), and Devon LaFleur; sisters, Neva LaFleur and Marilyn Houser (Dave); step-children, Darla Herman (Mark), Jana Shaw (Barron), and Jessica Mather (Jaime); grandchildren, Joseph Barnard, Jr. (Kelsey), Jordyn Bishop (Matthew), Jaclyn Barnard, John Corley, Alexa Corley, Brooklyn Corley, Emmett LaFleur, Elijah LaFleur, and Elle LaFleur; great granddaughter, Masyn Bishop; step-grandchildren, Jacob Herman, Hazel Herman, Grace Anne Shaw, Abigail Shaw, Isabella Mather, and Lennon Mather; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Harold Jones; step-mother, Rosalie LaFleur; and a granddaughter, Meghan Corley.
Richard was a graduate of North Texas University in Denton, Texas and most recently was employed by the Bemis Company as Vice President of the Polyethylene Packaging Division until he retired. He was a member of St. Joseph University Parish where he served on the building finance and funeral committees. Richard was an Air Force Veteran serving in Vietnam.
Funeral services and military honors by V.F.W. Post #972 will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 th Street, with Friar Savio Manavalan officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Catholic Charities.
