Richard Dean Ames

Survivors include his wife, Jane Ann Floyd Ames; sons, Andrew Richard Ames, Matthew Edwin Ames, and Daniel Dean Ames; step-son, Dale Wesley Lockman; Step-daughter, Lisa Lockman; sisters, Vickie Lynn Lidster (Loren) and Judy Thompson Dennison (Shannon); and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and the father whom he loved and raised him, Albert Dean Ames.
Richard was an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era. Richard was a Republican Delegate and a member of the NRA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 8, 2019 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Todd Payton and Pastor Tim Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with Military Services by V.F.W. Post #972. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral information is also available at www.callahanandhughes.com.
