Reid Michael Zoll, 72, of Marshall, IL and formerly of Terre Haute, IN passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at his home. He fought a short and courageous battle with leukemia. He was born August 9, 1950 in Terre Haute, IN to Sam and Lillian Zoll.
Reid was a dearly loved and loving husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, step-grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife Peggy; sister, Deborah Altschuler (Richard); nieces, Erin Withers (Richard) and Meredith Newman (Barry); nephews, Zach Altschuler and Josh Altschuler; great nieces and nephews, Sidney Fulford, Max Newman, Lillian Withers, and Mark Withers. He will be greatly missed by Kyle, Adrienne, Evangeline, and Jed Hutson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lillian Zoll and sister, Cyril-Ann Zoll Rosenberg.
Reid graduated from Gerstmeyer Technical High School in 1968. He attended Indiana State University. He was a Staff Sargent in the Indiana Air National Guard. He was a member of the United Hebrew Congregation in Terre Haute and served on their governing board. Reid was the owner/operator of CRC Products. He loved sales and meeting people. He could not walk down a sidewalk, stand in a line or walk through a store without starting a conversation with a stranger along the way. His infectious smile made others feel special. He had a wonderful sense of humor that he shared freely. Reid was passionate about life. His boat “That’s Zoll Folks” was his happy place for many years. He enjoyed traveling and recently loved playing golf with his friends and wife. Reid had many struggles in his life that he faced with strength and courage. He truly loved his family and friends. One of his favorite songs by Frank Sinatra, “I Did It My Way” summed up Reid’s wonderful and loving life.
A graveside service will be held at Highland Lawn Cemetery, 4420 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, IN 47803 on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. EST. Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Hebrew Congregation of Terre Haute or First United Methodist Church of Marshall, IL.
