Regina J. Sheets

Regina J. Sheets, 92, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday morning January 28, 2025. Regina was a homemaker for most of her life but assisted in the Kindergarten classroom of Meadows elementary school during the late 1970’s, and was the housemom at Lamda Chi Alpha fraternity at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology for many years in the mid to late 1980’s. She was born October 30, 1932 in Frankfort, Indiana to Oris K. Smith and Mary Levina Smith.

Survivors include her four children, Theresa Jackson of Terre Haute, Eric Sheets and his wife, Stephanie, of Greenwood, IN, Philip Sheets and his wife, Dr. Xu Jing Liu, of Carmel, IN and Karen Dakic of Terre Haute; five grandsons, Clint Cartwright, Cody Sheets, Greg Sheets, Luke Sheets and Milovan Dakic; four great-grandsons, Luke Sheets, Kaden Sheets, Garrett Sheets and Miles Sheets plus one great-granddaughter, Elisia Sheets. Also surviving are sisters Mitzi Shepard of Noblesville, IN, Mary London of Sharpsville, IN and Amy Smith of Tipton, IN and two brothers, Orie Smith of Tipton, IN and Max Smith of Orr, Minnesota plus several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Regina was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, William “Bill” P. Sheets, one brother, Charlie Smith ; and two sisters, Janis Matouk and Kozy Dell.

Regina was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

A private family service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on Saturday February 1, 2025 at 1:00pm with the Reverend Drew Downs officiating.
