Phillip F. Dice

Phillip F. Dice, 85, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday evening, July 2, 2022.   He was born February 19, 1937 in Maysville, KY to Charles Dice and Florence Vize Dice.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Colgan Dice;  four children, Mona Woollen of Terre Haute, David Keith Dice of Decatur, IL, Vicki Fair (Rick) of Mt. Zion, IL and Linda Brettl (Michael) of Mt. Zion, IL;  and five grandchildren, John and Daniel Woollen, Michael Drake, Marissa Brettl and Hannah Hunter (Chris).  Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Aron and Aric;   his brother, William Dice of North Port, FL;  a sister-in-law, Carol Leonard (Robert) of Vandalia, OH;  and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister-in-law, Judith Dice.

Mr. Dice entered the U.S. Air Force in June of 1955, serving in England, Thailand and Taiwan working with the Chinese Civil Aviation Administration and various state side assignments retiring in 1975.  Additionally, he worked with the FAA for 16 years for a total of 36 years of Federal Service.

Mr. Dice belonged to the following organizations;  St. Benedict Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Saint Mother Theodore Guerin Council 541 Honorary Life Member;  Knights of Columbus Assembly 252 4 th Degree Past Faithful Navigator;  National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, The Retired Enlisted Association, Krietenstein American Legion Post #104, Life Member of Lawton Byrum Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #972, National Rifle Association and Civil Service Retirement System.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 16, 2022 in St. Benedict Catholic Church, 111 South 9 th Street, with Father Fred Pasche officiating.  Private burial will be in St. Patrick Church Cemetery in Maysville, KY.  Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 th Street.  If friends should so desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Benedict Church Soup Kitchen, 111 South 9 th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807.
