Peter J. Dilg

Peter J. Dilg, 69, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday afternoon, March 27, 2022.  He was born June 22, 1952 in Paducah, KY to John E. Dilg and Elizabeth Newton Dilg.

Survivors include his sisters, Deborah N. Pecora of Terre Haute and Gretchen V. Newburn (James) of West Terre Haute;  four grandchildren, Makayla, Simone, Shaye and Dylan;  long-time loving companion, Kim Jackson of Cory, IN;  nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Stoneback, Ginny Newburn, James Newburn and Philip Pecora;  an aunt, Georgene Dilg of West Terre Haute;  and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents;  two children, Kathryn Nan Dilg and John Daniel Dilg;  and his former wife, Valerie Dilg.

Peter was a graduate of St. Margaret Mary Elementary School and Schulte High School class of 1970.  He worked as a pipefitter for 32 years with Union Local #157.  After retirement, Peter decided to continue his education earning both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Indiana State University.  He loved to play golf and was an avid reader.

A memorial visitation is scheduled for Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 PM with personal comments by family beginning at 3:00 PM, in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 ^th Street.  If friends should so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Terre Haute, 1801 Poplar Street, Terre Haute, IN 47803.
