Peggy Arleene Irvin, 63, of Terre Haute passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 in Union Hospital. She was born June 10, 1959 in Terre Haute to Glenford Frank Walden and Charleene Paschal Walden.
She was First Lady and member of Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. She was active in the Lost Creek Community.
Peggy was a 1977 graduate of Terre Haute North High School. She was a 1980 graduate of Indiana State University and Oakland City University in 2007. She was also an employee of Hercules/AET in the Human Relations Department for 20 plus years. Upon her death she worked as a Community Employment Specialist for Work One State of Indiana.
Survivors include her husband, Pastor Charles D. Irvin; her mother, Charleene Walden; children, Anthony James Harrison, Britany Nicole Harrison, Dorothy Allen (Mike), Patrick Irvin (Denise), Gwendolyn Smith (Ceasar), Melvin Irvin (Betty), and Stacey Irvin (Cammona); sisters, Linda Noble (Bobby) and Vivian Tompkins (Eric); 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; special nephew, Brayden Tompkins; and several nieces and nephews. Special friend Tamara Carter. She was preceded in death by her father .
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 in Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 1935 Tippecanoe Street with Reverend Charles D. Irvin officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
