Paul E. McFarland, 90, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 in Union Hospital. He was born November 13, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN to Spencer C. McFarland and Mattie Martin McFarland.
Survivors include his children, Debra Smock (Mark) and Martin McFarland; brother, Charles Ray McFarland (Bobbie); grandchildren, Leticia Bowlin, Kiera Smock, Julie Smock, and Joseph Smock; great grandchildren, Matthew Bowlin and Sara Bowlin; great great granddaughter, Blakely Bowlin; sisters-in-law, Lorraine McFarland, Gerri McFarland, and Janie O'Dell (Dale); brothers-in-law, James Ferguson (Mary Alice) and Thomas Ferguson (Mary Ellen); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Sue Ferguson McFarland; his parents; his brothers, Frank McFarland, Harry McFarland, and Ralph McFarland; and his sister, Gladys Wagley.
Paul was a retired Chief Master Sergeant serving in the Army and the Air Force during World War II and Korea and the Air National Guard. He was a member of American Legion Post #104, AMVETS, V.F.W. Post #972, and a lifetime member of of the NCO Club at Hulman Field. Paul was Past Master of Continental Lodge F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine, and swords of Bunker Hill.
Memorial visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 22, 2020 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street with military rites by AMVETS at 12:45 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
