Patrick Paul Singhurse, 39, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday evening, July 31, 2024, with his mother and sister holding him at the Gibson Family Hospice Center after a four-year battle with ALS. He was born March 17, 1985 in Indianapolis to Paul Singhurse and Catherine Haley Singhurse.
Survivors include his parents, Catherine “Kate” and Jeff Spencer of Terre Haute; his sister, Hannah; his brother, Michael (Ursula); nieces and nephew, Zofia, Bernadette, Nathanael, and Hildegard; special uncle and aunt, Bill and Beth Haley; numerous additional aunts, uncles and cousins; and his best friend, Ryan Brown (Rachel). He was preceded in death by his father, Paul E. Singhurse, grandparents, John and Mary Alice Haley Sr., and Paul and Beulah Singhurse, uncle, John Haley Jr., aunt, Chris Haley, and cousin, Will Houston.
Patrick was the kindest, most honest, most generous person you could ever meet. He was always ready and willing to help anyone who needed it - family, friends and strangers. He was a man of immense empathy and compassion, always having a special place in his heart for those who were down, distressed, or disheartened. He also had a great sense of humor and wit, which will most definitely not be forgotten.
Patrick had many talents. He worked as a self-employed and self-taught carpenter and contractor, renovating old homes in the Farrington Grove district. He did the majority of the work by himself, though he was always grateful for any assistance he did receive. He would also go on to become a licensed HVAC contractor. He put his all into his projects, and the outcomes were always extremely beautiful. He was very intelligent and dedicated. His family will always be beyond proud of him and his work.
Patrick was an avid animal and nature lover. He loved driving all over the United States, and he had a special affinity for the west coast and national parks. He had countless dogs, cats, and horses throughout his life, and each one was special to him. He loved every animal he ever met, but especially his golden retriever, Seoul, whom he shared with his sister. He loved his pickup truck, old country music, and driving with the windows down. Patrick was the best son, brother, and friend anyone could ever ask for. He means more than words can say, and he will be loved and remembered forever.
