Patrick John Meany, 53, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Union Hospital, after a short and sudden illness. He was born to John and Patricia Meany on April 28, 1971, in Newton, New Jersey.
Patrick spent most of his life in Terre Haute with his father; stepmom, Kathleen; his brothers and sister. He was a graduate of Terre Haute North High School where upon graduation he was given the award for perfect attendance. His favorite teacher was Mr. Boland, who taught him many lifetime skills.
A dedicated employee, Patrick worked at Cracker Barrel for over 30 years. He loved his job and the people he worked with became like family to him. His coworkers quickly became his friends, mentors, and at many times, his guardian angels. He will be sorely missed at Cracker Barrel.
Patrick was a volunteer with the Brown Bag Project. He helped prepare bag lunches at the Garfield Towers kitchen and delivered additional lunches to Warren Village. He was a member of Terre Haute (THREAD) through St. Patrick Catholic Church where he met lifelong friends, Beth Haley and Josie Newport. Patrick was an avid NASCAR fan throughout his lifetime. His favorite driver was Richard Petty. He collected models and anything that bore a resemblance to Petty Racing.
Patrick is survived by his father, Jack Meany; stepmother, Kathleen Meany; brother, Steve Meany; half-brother, Matthew of Denver, Colorado; half-sister, Mary of Franklin, Indiana; and their respective spouses and children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
