Patrick Ray Baumunk passed peacefully on to heaven July 26, 2021 at University Hospital in Indianapolis, IN surrounded in a prayerful circle of love by his wife and family.
He had been in declining health this past year from complications of a liver auto-immune disease.
He and his twin sister Patricia were born on September 16, 1950 to Carl and Evangeline Baumunk in Indianapolis, IN. She died a few days after birth.
He was a lifelong resident of Terre Haute and he retired from Bemis/Amcor in 2013 after 34 years of service as a press operator.
The pride of his life was his two children Heather and Dan. When he married Mary Beth Barr Baumunk in 1999, she came with three children who loved Patrick like a dad, and he loved them as his own.
Patrick and Mary Beth enjoyed the 22 years they had together, often traveling out of state to visit family, especially when the grandchildren came along. He enjoyed mechanics and was often found in his garage tinkering with anything that wasn’t working just right. He was a quiet person, but with a witty personality that always had people laughing.
Patrick is survived by his wife Mary Beth and children Heather Baumunk Maschino (Andy) Paris, IL, Daniel Baumunk (Amanda) Terre Haute, IN, Derek Barr (Allison) Orange Park, FL, Darice Barr (Bill) South Bend, IN and Bethany Barr Kramer (Kalama) Carmel, IN.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Justin Baumunk (Leah), Courtney Heath (Zach), Chelsea Maschino (Vaun), Madison Baumunk, Jacob Maschino, Claire Maschino, Chael Kramer, Ava Kramer, and David Barr. Also recently added were two great-grandchildren Lily Maschino and Evelyn Modesitt.
Patrick enjoyed the company of six siblings growing up and the stories they had to tell would have you either laughing hysterically or moved to tears.
He survived by brothers Richard Baumunk, Gary Baumunk and Terry Baumunk and sisters Beverly Colgate, Gloria Baumunk and Brenda Martin.
Patrick was preceded into death by his parents and mother and father-law Robert and Elizabeth Williams.
