Neal Joseph Ganly, 84, of Naples, FL and Terre Haute, IN passed away Friday evening, February 23, 2018. He was President of Bemis Company, Inc. Paper Packaging Division before his retirement in 2002. Neal was born February 25, 1933 in St. Louis, MO to John Ganly and Lola Linehardt Ganly.

Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Porter Ganly. Barbara was the rock Neal leaned on throughout his career and the partner that supported his great successes in life. Also surviving are two sons Michael Ganly (Suzi) and Rick Ganly (Robyn); a daughter, Donna Brickey (Mark); six grandchildren, Joshua Ganly, Kara Ganly, Vincent Brickey, Kaitlyn Brickey, Connor Ganly and Nicholas Ganly; one great-grandchild; a niece, Diane Cracchiolo; and a nephew, Mark Borzillo.

Neal was a graduate of St. Louis University and was a Korean War Veteran having served with the 461st Mortar Battalion. Neal dedicated 42 years of his life to Bemis Company Inc. from 1960 to 2002. During his tenure as President of the Polyethylene Packaging division, he lead several expansions, turning the plastic packaging plant into the largest polyethylene packaging plant in the world as of 1995. He retired from the Polyethylene Packaging division in 1999 and immediately became president of Bemis' Paper Packaging division where he turned around the division in a two year stint until his final retirement in 2002.

Neal was a prominent member of the Terre Haute community, including having served on the board of directors of AP & S Clinic (now UAP Clinic). In May of 1997 he was named in the top 100 list of the most Influential Indiana Business Leaders. Neal loved to play cards, was an avid fisherman and most importantly he loved his career, and Bemis' Terre Haute manufacturing plant and offices.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 3, 2018 in St. Benedict Catholic Church, 111 South 9th Street, with Fr. Martin Day, OFM Conv. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00-8:00 PM, Friday, March 2nd in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Avow Hospice House, 1095 Whippoorwill Ln., Naples, FL 34102, www.avowcares.org.
