Nancy K. Markey Nancy K. Markey passed away peacefully at home in Terre Haute, IN, on May 11, 2014. She was born to Mary Jean Lowry Markey and John A. Markey in Evansville, IN. She attended Christ-the-King grade school in Evansville, IN and Lost Creek grade school, Terre Haute, IN, and The Brown School for Girls in Texas. She studied Art at Indiana State University while working with several well-known local and regional artists. Art was Nancy's passion which she shared by doing volunteer portraitures and murals at several public spaces. She was also a member of the Art Guild of Terre Haute. Other volunteer work included the Terre Haute Humane Shelter. Her family will miss her kind heart and generous spirit. Relatives include; sister, Dianne Markey Hickey of Parker, CO, brother John R. Markey (Suzanne), Brownsburg, IN. Nieces and nephews: Stephanie Hickey Hahne of Parker, CO., Amy Hickey of Firestone, CO., Michelle and Sean Markey of Brownsburg, IN. Her uncle, Robert G. Lowry, Sullivan, IN. Cousins; Tom and Sandra Lowry, Sullivan, IN., Bob and Dolly Lowry, Carlisle, IN., Will & Lisa Lowry of Idyllwild, CA. Jesse Lowry, Sullivan, IN., Clinton Lowry, New Haven, CT. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S 25th Street with the Reverend Rick Swan officiating. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan. Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
