Nancy S. Bird Nancy S. Bird, 78, of Terre Haute passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 in Union Hospital. She was born in Connersville, Indiana on July 28, 1936 to Clifford Selby and Euthemia Rowland Selby. Nancy was a retired Registered Nurse and had worked for Union Hospital for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bird, who passed away earlier this year. Survivors include her son, David Bird and his wife Lisa of Savannah, Georgia; a sister, Judy Rathburn and her husband John of Glenwood, IN; and two granddaughters, Kelly Flynn and her husband Peter of Monrovia, IN and Haley Bird of Savannah, Georgia. Nancy was also preceded in death by her parents. Nancy graduated from Laurel High School in 1959 and graduated from Indiana State University receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. After college she worked at Methodist and St. Vincent Hospitals in Indianapolis and later taught nursing at St. Anthony Hospital in Terre Haute. She volunteered with the Make-a- wish Foundation, The American Red Cross and Union Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street, with Mark Grayless officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, July13, 2015 in the funeral home.
