Murelann Mucha, 87, of Terre Haute passed away in her home Sunday evening, March 1, 2020. She was born February 9, 1933 in Paris, IL to Harvey Morris and Lyte Gossom Morris. Her husband of nearly 65 years, Marvin J. Mucha, preceded her in death on October 7, 2019.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jeri Taylor and Barbara Watler (John) both of Terre Haute; and four grandchildren, Lindsay Taylor, Laura Burnett (Tony), Graham Arnold and Aaron Arnold (Brittany). Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren, Anthony Wayne Burnett, Jr., Beau Burnett, Taylor Burnett, Makayla Arnold, James Chrisman, Graham Arnold, Carter Arnold, Gemma Arnold and Evelyn Arnold; brother-in-law, Clifford S. Mucha (Angie) of Leander, TX; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Homee. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Fisher.
Murelann was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and the Sycamore Club. She was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War serving with the Women's Army Corps (WACs). Murelann was an avid NASCAR fan rooting especially for Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. She loved gardening, canning fruits and vegetables and making homemade noodles.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2020 in the Chapel of Highland Lawn Cemetery, 4420 Wabash Avenue, with Reverend Scott Johnson officiating. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #972. As per her wishes, her great-grandson, Anthony Wayne Burnett, Jr., will honor her by playing "Taps". Burial will follow in the cemetery. To honor her wishes, there is no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street.
