Miles O. Cremer, 72, of Pimento, Indiana passed away Friday morning, June 27, 2014 in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Miles was born September 19, 1941 in Rockford, IL to Oliver Leo Cramer and Veda Mae Cremer. Early on he was an engineer and salesman for Anderson Brothers. Miles and his wife, Linda, owned and operated their own business, Deerfield Station for 25 years, located in Tiffin, OH. They then opened Scrapbook Station with their daughter, Laura, for 5 years until retirement and they moved to Indiana. Retirement didn't last long for Miles when he started working for Sunrise Coal Company with his nephew, Jason, and friends. Miles served with the Army National Guard for 14 years having attained the rank of Captain. In his early days, he loved drag racing, scuba diving, motorcycling and flying and building RC airplanes. Most of all he loved spending time with his beloved wife and family. Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Linda Laswell Cremer, whom he married July 11, 1975; children, Laura Cremer of Indianapolis, IN, and Cheryl Kunz and her husband, Kent, Jeff Cremer and his wife, Jenny, Connie Linenfelser and her husband, Jeff, and Shawn Cremer all of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Joseph Linenfelser, Anthony Linenfelser, Amanda Linenfelser, Kelsey Kunz, Rebeka Cremer, Kyle Cremer and Brandon Cremer; and great-grandson, Landon James Kohlhorst, our miracle. Also surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law, Janice Laswell, Judy & Terry Jarvis, Joe & Linda Laswell, Steve & Debby Laswell, Mary Jane & Bob Hansel, Debbie Fay Laswell and Kim Osborne; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, his dog Rowdy. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Cremer; and a brother-in-law, Ron Laswell. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastor Rick Swan officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
