Mildred (Millie) Poleski, 92, of Terre Haute went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 17, 2013. She was born July 22, 1921 in St. Francisville, IL to Ralph and Bura Barnett. Survivors include her two sons, Stanley M. Poleski, Jr. and his wife Connie of Terre Haute and Stephen M. Poleski and his wife Anita of Amherst, VA; a former daughter-in-law, Janice Jeffers MacIntosh; four grandchildren, James M. Poleski and his wife Shelly, Laura Poleski, Mark Poleski and his wife Dana, and Chrystal Staton and her husband G. L. ; four great grandchildren, Ashley and Reese Staton and Jonah and Joshua Poleski; and four nieces, Beckie Helvie, Cathy Cook, Beth Nevin, and Marti Hodges of California. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley; and one sister, Virginia Hodges. Millie worked for Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator and retired from General Telephone after many years of service. She will always be remembered by her family and friends for the many birthday cards and letters she sent and for saying thank you to her family, Bethesda Gardens staff and Springhill Village staff for the wonderful care she received the last few years of her life. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 21, 2013 in St. George Orthodox Church, 1900 S. 4th Street with the Reverend Father Paul Matar officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street with Trisagion Prayers at 7:50 P.M.
