Mike C. Myers

Michael Craig Myers, 77, passed away peacefully at Hendricks Regional Hospital with his family by his side on January 8th, 2025. 

Mike was born on September 16, 1947 in Wabash, Indiana. He was the son of Paul and Phyllis Myers. They preceded him in death. He is lovingly survived by his three daughters, Stephanie Stewart, Stacey Brooks (Tom), and Wendy Preilis (Jerry) and his six grandchildren, Travis and Sydney Stewart, Grant and Gage Brooks, and Jacob and Gwen Preilis. Mike’s siblings, Chris Hammock (Perry) and Mark Myers and niece Emily Mosby (Matt) and a great-nephew Owen and great-niece Willa also survive. 

Mike graduated from Franklin Community High School in 1965 and Indiana State University. He taught middle school science for several years in Texas and in Indiana, ultimately retiring from Chauncey Rose Middle School in Terre Haute. He was also the co-owner of the Gingerbread House in Franklin with his former wife, Sandy. Throughout his lifetime, Mike was a huge influence on his family, friends, and students. 

He attended Otterbein United Methodist Church in Rockville, Indiana where he taught Sunday School for many years. Mike also enjoyed sitting on his front porch overlooking Raccoon Lake. He will be greatly missed by his many friends, especially, Coy and Denny, the members of the Rockville Am Vets, and his church family. 

Mike’s life will be celebrated with a service on Saturday, January 18th at 3pm at the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Visitation is from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 2526 S. State Road 59, Rockville, Indiana 47872.
