Michelle L. Kemp, 43, of Farmersburg, IN passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a school teacher having taught first grade at Farrington Grove Elementary School. Michelle was born March 11, 1976 in Terre Haute to Kenneth Bosc and Virginia Stephenson Hieston.
Survivors include her loving husband of 11 years, Nathan Kemp; three children, Jenna Kemp, Leah Kemp and Kasen Kemp all of Farmersburg; her father and step-mother, Kenneth and Libby Bosc of Terre Haute; step-father, Bill Walls of Terre Haute; brother, Ray Travioli, Jr. of Wichita Falls, TX and sister, Sherri Fernander of Terre Haute. Also surviving is a step-sister, Jackie Opell of Terre Haute; her mother and father-in-love, Cheryl and Jerry Kemp of Farmersburg; two brothers-in-love, Seth Kemp (Rachelle Martin) of Indianapolis and Willie Kemp of Farmersburg; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Bosc Hieston; and grandparents, Paul and Eileen Bosc and Rolla and Margaret Walls.
Michelle was a graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School and received her bachelor's degree from Indiana State University. She studied at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College where she received her teaching certificate and completed her education at Ball State University where she received her master's degree in education. Michelle was passionate about her classroom and her students and was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Shelburn, IN. She was a cheerleader at Terre Haute North and also Indiana State and coached cheerleading at Terre Haute North High School for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Shelburn, 520 W Mill St., with Pastor Ben Wetherington officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 8th from 4:00-8:00 PM also at the church. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. The family kindly request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in the form of a backpack filled with school supplies and children's clothing which can be delivered to First Baptist Church of Shelburn, 520 W.
