Michael McCrisaken, 91, of Terre Haute, IN passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020 in Gibson Family Hospice Center.
Michael was born October 30, 1928 to James and Theresa McCrisaken at St. Anthony's Hospital. He graduated from Wiley High School in 1946 and went on to work for the Tribune Star Newspaper for 44 years, retiring in 1989. During his time with the Tribune Star he worked as a Production Manager/Printer in the composing room.
On September 24, 1949, he married the former Joy Scott at St. Margaret Mary's Church.
Michael is survived by his wife, Joy, sister, Mary Alice McCrisaken of Terre Haute, IN, his daughters Kathy Newhart of Terre Haute, IN and Susan Olds, of Oldsmar, FL, his two granddaughters and spouses Megan Elizabeth and Brandon Bland of Terre Haute, IN, and Kathleen "Katie" and Kyle Crockett of Marshall, IL, and his four great grandchildren Grace Newhart, Carden Newhart, Luke Bland, and Greyson Bland.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Theresa McCrisaken, brothers Father Joseph Bernard and James Robert Jr. McCrisaken, sister and brother in law Patricia "Patty" and John Petrilla, and son in law, Robert Olds.
His very special dog was Daisy-whom he adored. They were true buddies.
Michael was a good husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels for many years alongside his wife. He also volunteered at St. Benedict Food Pantry, Salvation Army, and helped count the weekly offerings at St Benedict Catholic Church.
Graveside services for family and friends will be held at 11 am Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery with Father Martin Day officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Benedict Soup Kitchen or Salvation Army.
