Maxine V. Pound, 95, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Harrison's Crossing Health Campus. Maxine was born May 8, 1923 in Riley, IN to Marvin Ray and Bertha Armstrong Ray. Her husband, Harrold L. Pound, preceded her in death in 1989. In addition to her husband, Maxine was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Nita Faye Pound, a brother, Marvin Russell Ray, and a sister, Ruth Reed.

Survivors include her three daughters, Gloria J. Laubach (Dick) of Charlotte, NC, Rita K. Gregory (Joe) of Terre Haute and Brenda R. Drake of Terre Haute; her three sons, Robert E. Pound (Janie) of Rosedale, IN, Ronald J. Pound (Lynn) of Terre Haute and Richard L. Pound (Cheryl) of West Terre Haute; 13 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

Maxine was a 1941 graduate of Blackhawk High School. She sang in the Vigo County Choral Club and was a member of World Gospel Church for 60 years. Her sewing gift brought her enormous satisfaction and brought her many friends as well as provided a way to support missions at WGC.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00pm on Friday, June 1, 2018 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Keith Gaddis officiating. Private burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley, IN. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday.
