Mary Alice Mccrisaken

Mary Alice McCrisaken, 84, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in Harrison’s Crossing Health Campus. She was born January 9, 1938 in Terre Haute to James McCrisaken and Theresa Dora McCrisaken.

Survivors include her nephews, John and James Petrila and nieces, Sue Olds,, Ann Petrila, and Kathy Newhart, all of whom loved Mary for her warm sense of humor, her devotion to her mother after her father’s death, and her lifelong faith. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her brothers, Father Joseph McCrisaken, James and Michael McCrisaken; her sister, Patricia Petrila; and her niece, Suzanne Morris.

Mary was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where she was a member of the altar society, a volunteer at the chapel, soup kitchen, and assisted with funeral dinners. She was a legal secretary for David Day, attorney at law and retired from Terre Haute First National Bank. Mary graduated from Schulte High School with the class of 1956. She was a member of Alpha Omega Masters chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, where she had been a member of the sorority for 63 years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 26, 2022 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Ben Syberg officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to mass from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. in the church with a candlelight ritual by Beta Sigma Phi at 10:45 A.M.  Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25 ^th Street.
