Mary Ellen Dixon Mary Ellen Dixon, 85, of Terre Haute and formerly of St. Louis, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in her residence. Ellen was born January 23, 1930 to Robert Hagens and Ruth Murray Hagens who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Howard Albert "Al" Dixon. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Jerry Gaskin; her grandson, Deitrich Rompf; and her granddaughter, Katherine Rompf Chiu and her husband John. She is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Ellen was a lifetime member of Herculaneum Chapter #325 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Herculaneum, Missouri. She was a member of the Fort Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Terre Haute and was very active in the Honey Creek Garden Club. She was creative and had a talent for Interior Design. She worked for many years in the retail business at Famous Barr and at Artistic Fabrics where she enjoyed working with decorative fabrics. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Monday, March 16, 2015 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street, with the Reverend Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Danville National Cemetery, Danville, IL. Visitation is scheduled from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Monday, March 16, 2015 in the funeral home.
